Bathurst - Mrs. Greta Milton, of Queen Elizabeth Drive, passed away on Wednesday, January 25th, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital at the age of 84.

Greta was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Robertson and Andrea (Olsen) MacDonald.  The family later moved to Stellarton, N.S.  After completing high school, Greta attended and graduated from Mount Allison University in 1948.

Greta was a member of the UCW, IODE, and was involved in a variety of volunteer activities.  Her Bridge Club held a special place in her heart.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Besides her husband of 61 years, Gerald, she is survived by three children:

Bruce (Gail), Ralph (Lucille) both of Bathurst, Heather Hennigar (Deane) of Dartmouth, N.S.,

four grandchildren: Shelley, Drew, Jeffrey and Jamie;

two great-grandchildren: Cooper and Ty.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Marilyn; a brother, Donald and nephew, Stephen.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.  A memorial service to celebrate Greta's life will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 2 pm from the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst.  A reception will follow in the Donald Eddy Hall.

Donations in memory of Greta may be made to the United Church General Operating Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
