Bathurst - Melvin ''Red'' Bennett, 81, of Rought Waters Road,  passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst, born in Sherbrooke, Que.

He was the son of the late Charles and Florence (Taylor) Bennett of North Hatley, Que.

He was the owner of Bennett's Bicycle Shop in Bathurst.

He is survived by two daughters:  Shelly (Jean-Pierre Hachey) of Red Deer, Alta., Leslie (Dean Clark) of St. Lawrence, N.L.,

Two sons: Curtis (Betty)of Bathurst, Jeffrey (Marsha) of Benealto, Alta.

Five grandchildren:  Bruce, Victoria, Patrick, Alicia and Madisen; one great-grandchildren, Ocean.

One brother, Lawrence (Janet); two nieces; two great-grandnephews all of North Hatley, Que.

By request, there will be no visitation and no service.

In memory of Melvin, a donation to a palliative care of Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst would be appreciated by the family.
