1922 - 2013

Bathurst - Mrs. Claire Melanson, 90, wife of the late Anthony Melanson, of Franklin Ave., Bathurst, passed away on Monday (January 14, 2013) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Alfred "Frederick" and Catherine (Lavigne) Pitre.

She was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by a son, Raymond (Solange) of Bathurst.

Two grandchildren: Matthew and Aaron.

Two brothers:  Bill Petrie (Lillian) of North Tetagouche and Elmer Petrie (Mellie) of Bathurst. 

Two sisters:  Violet Babin (Lawny) of Bathurst and Lillian Hazel (late Gratton) of Dartmouth, N.S.

Many nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by a sister, Eva.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning (January 17, 2013) at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst. 

Donations in memory of Claire may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donors choice.
