Bathurst – Mrs. Bertha Roy (née Arseneau), formerly of Dumeresq St., Bathurst, beloved wife of the late Edward "Eddy" Roy, passed away peacefully at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes with her family by her side on Thursday February 28, 2019, at the age of 89 years.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Clothilda (Glazier) Arseneau.

She is survived by her loving children: Linda Duguay (Ralph), Claudette Maisonneuve (Hubert) and Alward Roy (Lois Bryanton).

Grandchildren: Judson Duguay (Nadia), Frank Bélanger, Mathieu Maisonneuve (Adèle) and Ryan Maisonneuve (Daniel); great-grandchildren Kaliyah, Aiyanah, Kayden and Emma.

Five sisters: Marguerite Bruno of Phoenix, AZ, USA, Susan Arsenault (Ronald), Anne Peto (Doug) and Carole Aubé (Jean-Pierre) all of Bathurst and Theresa Arseneau of Saint John.

Also survived by her dear friend Daniel Roy of Bathurst and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her loving sister Doris, brother Barney and step-mother Hilda.

Bertha will truly be missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. She cared deeply for others, and her legacy will continue on through those whose lives she touched.

There will be no visitations at the Funeral Home.  Funeral mass will be celebrated at the Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst on Thursday March 7, 2019, at 11 a.m. A lover of animals, donations in memory of Bertha may be made to the Bathurst SPCA of a favorite charity.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
