  •  Date de décès: 10 septembre 2020
  •  Emplacement: Bathurst

We are heartbroken to announce the death of Elizabeth “Beth” Davidson which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on September 10th, 2020 at the age of 67.

She is survived by her loving partner, Barry Hachey, her brother, Eric Davidson (Carol) of Moncton, step-daughter, Sara DeGrace (Ian LaPointe) and grand-daughter, Emily DeGrace of Fredericton, nieces Natalie Davidson of Australia and Lana Davidson (Clayton Swanton) of Manitoba, nephew Neil Davidson of Moncton and great-niece Charlotte Swanton.

Beth was pre-deceased by her sisters, Heather and Susan, and her parents, Walter and Audrey (Groat) Davidson of Bridge Street.

She will be dearly missed by the Hachey family, several cousins and many lifelong friends.

Beth owned and operated City Leather and Canvas, the family business started by her father, for as long as anyone can remember. It was a labour of love which she poured her heart and soul into, and from it she gained a number of loyal employees and customers who came to be an important part of her family.

She could make just about anything with her own two hands and her flower gardens were always bursting with the most unique flowers she could track down. Cooking, baking, sewing, cross stitch, a good puzzle - her hands were always busy.

Beth was also the family historian, spending countless hours piecing together her roots and connecting with long lost cousins at all ends of the earth.

Though her last years came with many health challenges, Beth met those challenges head on and rose above them to continue enjoying life. For onlookers, it was a masterclass in perseverance.

A special thank you to the many doctors and nurses who took care of Beth over the years, but especially to Dr. Wade for his commitment to Beth’s health.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions, a private service will be held at Elhatton’s Funeral Home in the coming days. Interment in the United Church Cemetery, Bathurst, NB will occur at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, Beth asked that friends and family plant a tree to save a life.
