Bathurst - Glenn Eric Rector, 83, of Bathurst, passed away on March 18th, 2022, from an unexpected heart attack. Even though a failing heart took him away, his presence will always be felt with his family.

Born in Debert, NS to the late Russell and Hilda (McNutt) Rector.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 64 years, Judy (Langille) Rector; daughter Glenda Smith (Carl), son David Rector (Pam Chiasson); Grandchildren Devin, Cody (Gillian Whalen) and Jody (Jason Carrol); Great Grandchildren Lane, Wren and Barrett.

He is also survived by his brother Dr. William Rector (Dianne) and his sister Sonya Brown. Several nieces and nephews.

In his early years Glenn worked as a butcher for Dominion Stores in Nova Scotia and moved to Bathurst for Kents as a meat manager where he especially enjoyed interacting with the customers. Glenn and Judy made a name for themselves over the years in the restaurant business where many locals and tourists alike enjoyed food and conversation at Queen Grill, Bathurst Grill, Carleton Grill, Ships Galley and Sea Drift in Bathurst and finally DG’s in Debert NS where they live for 20+ years. While in Debert Glenn also drove school bus. His favourite time of the year was Christmas where the kids would look forward to their bus being driven by Glenn in a Santa suit.

Upon retirement they moved back to Bathurst to be close to family. Glenn’s cheerful attitude, bright smile and quick whit will be missed by all.
