It is with great sadness that we the family announce the peaceful passing of Aldea Smith which occurred at her residence on Wednesday September 4th, 2024, at the age of 65.

Born in South Tetagouche, she was the daughter of Cecile Pitre and the late Harvey Smith.

She leaves to mourn her children: Jennifer Dowe (Shannon), Nova Poirier (Rachel) both of Bathurst, and Matthew Iza-Poirier (David) of Kitchener, ON.

Her Grandchildren: Konrad and Benjamin; three sisters, several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday September 9th, 2024, at 2p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel. Aldea’s wish was not to have a traditional funeral but instead for family and friends to share some special memories. We encourage anyone who would like to say a few words to share them with us on Monday.

Donations in memory of Aldea may be made the Diabetes Association of Canada or a charity of the donor's choice.
