With great sadness and in celebration of a life well lived, the family announces the passing of Theresa Mann (née Cripps) which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at the age of 96.
Born in Chatham, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mabel Cripps.
She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Mann and five of her children: Michael, Joan, David, Dorothy and infant son Danny. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family which included 14 siblings.
She is survived by her six children: Barbara (George) Branch, Bernice (Richard) Arseneau, John (Anne) Mann, Richard (Merredith Brewer) Mann, Anna (Darcy) Hickey and Mary (Marc) Doucet.
She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, including three granddaughters with whom she shared her home: Mélanie, Élène and Rachelle; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was also Aunt Tessie to many nieces and nephews.
Proudly from Miramichi, she later moved to Bathurst with her husband to raise her family. She had an active life and enjoyed sports such as golfing and bowling, enjoyed camping with family and good, old-fashioned country music. An extremely social woman, she had many lifelong friends whom she cherished.
Tessie was the embodiment of maternal love. The matriarch of her family, she has left behind a hole which will be impossible to fill. She was unconditionally loving, caring and fiercely devoted to her family.
Despite the largeness of her family, she had a way in which she made every person feel loved and valued. Tessie lived with an unshakeable faith in God, which guided and encouraged her throughout her life. Her family is comforted by the knowledge that she is in heaven surrounded by family and friends.
“Miss me a little – but not too long.
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared.
Miss me – but let me go.”
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Church on Monday, December 2nd, 2024 at 11a.m. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, NB.
