Bathurst - Mrs. Elizabeth Poirier, 93, wife of the late Lorenzo Poirier, passed away on Tuesday (May 15, 2007) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness. Born in St. Léolin, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Cécilia (Thériault) Downing. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Lorenzo in 2004. She is survived by: One son: Walter Poirier (Jacqueline Thériault) of Middle River, NB One brother: Alfred Downing (Rose-Anna) of St. Sauveur, NB 2 grandchildren; Julie, Hélène, 3 great-grandchildren; Alex, Mia and Annissya, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by brothers; Arthur, Alphonse, Léopold, sisters; Amanda, Hélène, Lauza. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday (May 17, 2007) at 4:00 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst. Burial will be in the Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery, Bathurst.
