Bathurst - Edgar F. "Simonize" Hachey, 95, of Union St. and formerly of St. Paul St., Bathurst, passed away on Saturday (July 3, 2010) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of Felix and Rose (Melanson) Hachey.

He owned and operated the former Hachey Alignment for many years.

He was pre-deceased by his wife, Albina (Cormier) Hachey and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He is survived by:

Two sons:

Ron (Sheila) and

Gerard (Marjorie) both of Bathurst

Five daughters:

Cecile Whiting (Dave) of North Bay, ON

Agnes Hachey (John),

Anne Marie Hachey,

Margaret Lavigne (Roger) and

Marie Jane Aubie (Stephen) all of Bathurst

23 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by a son; Raymond and a grandson; Rodney.

The body will rest after 2 p.m. Sunday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday afternoon (July 5, 2010) at 4 p.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.  Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Monday from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral.
