Big River - Mrs. Bernice MacWhirter, 66, wife of Douglas MacWhirter, passed away surrounded by family and friends on Thursday (July 8, 2010) at her residence after a lengthy illness.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Orrin and Audrey (Brown) Good.

Besides her husband, she is survived by:

Three children:

Jeffery of Winnipeg, MB

Carla Branch (Travers) of Perth, Australia

Deanna Godin (Jackie) of Big River

Three brothers:

Leslie Good (Elizabeth) and

Clint Good (Kim), both of Big River

Benson Good (Jackie) of Baie Ste Anne

6 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by a sister; Margaret.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday afternoon (July 13, 2010) at 2 p.m. from the Evangel Pentecostal Church, Basin St., Bathurst, with a reception to follow in the Church basement.  Donations in memory of Bernice may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a favorite charity.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
