Bathurst - Mrs. Hilda Glidden, 92, wife of the late Walter Glidden, of Princess Dr., Bathurst, passed away on Friday (August 27, 2010) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness.

Born in Dunlop, she was the daughter of the late Leander Hadley and Martha Haché.

She was a member of the Holy Family Church Catholic Women’s League, Bathurst.  Hilda was also an avid card player and well known for her pies.

She is survived by:

Two daughters; Joyce of Calgary, AB, Thelma of Bathurst.  One son; Byron (Vilma) of Beresford.  15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  One sister; Mildred Chamberlain of Miramichi Road who is the last surviving member of the family.

She was predeceased by her husband Walter;  Sons:  Glen, James and Hadley;  daughters, Norma, Ann and Shirley;  3 brothers:  John, Lee and Ryan and 1 sister, Ella.

Visitation will be held after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday afternoon (September 2, 2010) at 2 p.m.  from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave, Bathurst.  Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2-4 and 7 to 9.  Donations in memory of Hilda may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation or a favourite charity.
