It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of J. Guy Parker, 77 years of age, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst, N.B. on December 27th 2010. Born in Dundee, N.B., he was the son of the late Aurele Sr. and Denise (Letourneau) Parker.

He is survived by his wife Alice (White) and 2 children, Gail (Wade) Simpson of Bathurst, and Stephen (Jan Faulkner) of Vancouver and 3 adored grandchildren, Tyler Simpson of Pittsburgh, PA, Alyssa (Simpson) Hartwell (Steve) of Bathurst and Troy Simpson of Sackville, N.B.

He is also survived by 2 brothers, Marcel (Gabrielle) of Montreal, QC, and Aurele,Jr. of Bathurst, and 2 sisters, Jeannine Savoie (Gildas) of Dundee, N.B and Frances Pigeon (Hughes) of Ste. Anne de Bellevue, QC.and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Leo (Delia) and George (Bella) and sister Colombe Doucet (Raymond).

Guy retired from Brunswick Mines in 1991 where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a long time associate member of the Herman J. Good Legion, was actively involved in the provincial dart league for many years and was a member of the Sacred Heart Chapter of the Knights of Columbus.

All who knew Guy will remember his willingness to help everyone, his great love of the outdoors and his favorite pastimes: hunting, gardening and berry picking. Since retirement he has enjoyed many years in Florida and has developed a wide and close circle of friends. He will be sorely missed by all the lives he touched.

The family would like to extend special thanks to all the nurses and doctors at the Chaleur Regional Hospital Intensive Care Unit, whose care and compassion was very much appreciated.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Cathedral on Thursday, December 30th at 10 am.

As per his wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no visitation. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Assoc. or a favorite charity.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
