Bathurst – Cyril "Cy" Babin, 77, of the Villa Chaleur, Bathurst, passed away on Monday (April 11, 2011) at Moncton Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Alfred and Octavie (Thériault) Babin.
He was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1935. He served for over 23 years with the RCAF.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Irene (Léger) Babin in 2008.
He is survived by: Two daughters, Beverly Ann Babin of Montreal, QC and Jan Helene Aubé of Bathurst. Two sons, Glenn Babin (Shelley) of Kitchener, ON and Allan Babin (Brenda) of Aylmer, ON. One sister, Helen Doctor of Bathurst. 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The body will rest after 2 p.m. Thursday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning (April 15, 2011) at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Visiting hours are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Friday from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral. For anyone wishing to send tokens of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
