Bathurst - Edgar Blanchard, 73, of Résidence McGraw, Riverside Dr., Bathurst, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday (April 13, 2011).

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Frank and Ursule (Babineau) Blanchard,

He was a former clerk for Home Hardware in Bathurst and was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18 of the Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst.

He is survived by:  One son, Kevin Blanchard of Bathurst.  One daughter, Karen Blanchard (Sylvain Lagacé) of Dunlop.  The mother of his children, Albertine Blanchard of Beresford.  Two sisters, Catherine Couture of Bathurst and Margaret Campbell of Surrey, BC.  5 grandchildren, Jesse, Zoe, Amy, Bradyn and Jayden.  Nephews, Jean-Paul, Michel, Jimmy, Mark, Danny, Joey and Glen.

He was pre-deceased by an infant son, Keith and a nephew, Allain.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday afternoon (April 18, 2011) at 2 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.  Donations in memory of Edgar may be made to a charity of the donors choice.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
