  • Marjorie McCulloch 2011

  •  Date of Death: June 25, 2011
  •  Location: Bathurst

McCulloch (nee O’Leary), Marjorie Regina (1925-2011)-86, Bathurst, NB, passed away June 25, 2011 in the QEII Hospital after a short hospitalization, surrounded by her family.

Born in Lindsay, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Charlotte Neithercut and James O’Leary. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all.

Marjorie married Donald Edwards McCulloch in 1958 and in 1965, they relocated from Ontario to Bathurst, NB where they raised their family. Marjorie worked for several years in administration at Conato in Bathurst. In later years, she travelled and worked as a hostess for vacation bus tours. Marjorie had a great sense of fun and loved music, dancing, and people. She made friends wherever she went.  Although she rarely sat, she ensured her hands were busy crocheting, knitting, and quilting. Marjorie served as a Brownie leader and an Elm Tree Camp leader for several years and was a member of the CWL. Marjorie loved singing in the Holy Family Catholic Church choir for over 20 years. She was a volunteer at Chaleur Regional Hospital for over 20 years. Marjorie was an avid bridge player and she loved to win. She was very active in clogging and line dancing, and was a regular walker at the KC Irving Centre.  Marjorie loved driving her "little red car" and she made several road trips to Ontario and Nova Scotia in it. Marjorie was particularly proud of successfully repassing her driver’s license exams, both written and practical, at 80 years of age. Marjorie never missed a social event and her love of parties closely rivaled her love of chocolate/sweets and dogs.

Marjorie spent the last 5 years of her life in Halifax, NS to be near her family. She enjoyed her grandchildren immensely and liked to participate in their achievements.

Marjorie is predeceased by her husband Donald Edwards McCulloch (1985), parents (Charlotte and James O’Leary), 2 sisters (Rita and Phyllis), 1 brother (Frank).

Marjorie is survived by 3 siblings (John O’Leary, Muriel Lucas, Audrey Baker), 3 children (Dr. Donna McCulloch/Warren Feschuk, Karen McCulloch/Andrew MacLeod, Mark McCulloch) and 2 grand children (Olivia Feschuk, Aileen Feschuk).
