GRANT, JOHN WILLIAM - August 2, 1943 - August 15, 2011 - John William Grant of Calgary, Alberta, formerly of West Bathurst NB, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on August 15, 2011, following a lengthy battle with cancer. John was the elder son of the late Lorne and Isabel (Sullivan) Grant. He was predeceased by his only sibling Lorne Allen (Junior) in January of 2010. John is survived by his wife Wyukundh Grant; daughters Hokundh H. Ok (Payroom) of Switzerland, and Sally Hanearin (Mike) of Calgary; grandsons Weana, Veachhy, Jarrett and Keenan; nephews Sean, Ryan and Matthew Grant of the United States; as well as several cousins. John had been employed with Lockharts in Moncton before moving to Calgary in the 70s. He recently retired from an accounting position with MSF Ltd in Calgary. John will be long remembered for his kindness, love of family and friends, his humour and glowing optimism. John who has traveled worldwide has now taken his most perfect journey of all.
Funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Church, West Bathurst with burial in Holy Family Cemetery on Saturday (September 10, 2011) at 11 a.m.  Contributions in John's memory can be made to the Holy Family Special Projects Fund or to the charity of your choice.  Due to severe family allergies, please no sented products.
