Bathurst - Wilbert "Bee" Poitras, 78, of Bathurst, passed away on Sunday (January 1, 2012) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Grand Falls, NB, he was the son of the late Wilfrid and Albertine (King) Poitras.

Wilbert worked for most of his life in the movie theater business, managing the old Kent Theater in downtown Bathurst and later managing the Bayview Drive-in in Beresford.

Besides his life companion, Liliane "Lily" Cool, he is survived by two sons; Jean-Guy (Marcia Basque) of Chamberlain Settlement, NB and Michel (Jacqueline Pallot) of Notre-Dame-des-Erables, NB, two sisters; Gilberte Cyr (Don) of Edmundston, NB and Diane Gourdeau of Montreal, QC, four grandchildren; Chantal, Keith, Becky and Esther, four great-grandchildren; Miguel, Maryse, Annabelle and Brianna along with several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by one brother, Kenneth.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning (January 6, 2012) at 11 a.m. from the Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.  Donations in memory of Wilbert may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home , Bathurst.
