It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean H. Godin, son of the late Henri and Viola (Boucher) Godin, of Beresford following his brave battle with illness. His death occurred January 22, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family. Besides his wife Annette Godin (Bertin) he is survived by his son, Patrick (Charline Allain) of Dieppe and daughter, Chantal LeBreton (Philippe) of Beresford; his grand-daughter, Emma that he loved so much; his two brothers: Cleo (Martine Godin) of Moncton, Louis (Fernande Gionet) of Bathurst; his two sisters: Diane Collins (late Mike) of Matapedia Que. and Louise Frenette (Jean-Claude) of Petit-Rocher; his in-laws, Angus and Lina Bertin of Beresford; his sister-in-law, Nicole (Bertin) Vienneau (Jean Claude) of Beresford; his brother-in-law, Donald Bertin (Louise) of Dunlop and his many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.

Jean went to join his father, Henri (1996); his mother Viola (1966); his older brother Robert-Bobby (1975) husband of Laurenda (Boudreau); his sisters: Anne-Marie (1993) wife of Ernest Comeau, Lorraine (1982) wife of the late Joe Server and his nephew Ronald Comeau (2011).

Jean was a devoted husband, a committed father and a grandfather full of attention and tenderness towards his granddaughter Emma who he loved a great deal. He was an inspiration to everyone he encountered but mostly to his brothers and sisters. Jean’s generosity could not be measured and a friend that no one wanted to lose.

Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home of Beresford (www.mheritage.com), Tuesday, Jan. 24, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Wednesday, January 25th from 2 p.m. until time of funeral that will be celebrated at 4:30 p.m. from Eglise Saint-Nom-de-Jesus of Beresford.

For those who want a donation in memory of Jean may be made to the Canadian multiple sclerosis, to the Canadian Association of organ donation, to a charity of your choice or flowers are also accepted.
