Bathurst – It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of William (Bill) Doucet, 89, husband of the late Jeannine (deGrasse) Doucet, of Palmer Dr. which occurred on Sunday, June 3, 2012, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Saint-John, N.B., he was the son of the late Alfred and Jessie Doucet.

He is survived by two sons: Ron (Vicky) of Bathurst and Bernard (Jasmine) of Beresford; two daughters: Rachelle Chiasson (Walter Doucet) of Beresford and Anne Louise Frenette (Jean-Claude) of Bathurst; three grand-daughters: Sonia (Heng Sun Chao), Wendy (Robert Audet) and Christina (Martin Gauvin); and three great grand-daughters: Gabrielle, Marissa et Sandrine.

He will also be missed by a special friend Josée Boudreau; four brothers: Leonard (Emily) of Bathurst, Lawrence (late Arlene) of Amherst, N.S., Louis (Jeannette) of Allardville and Donald (Marielle) of Beresford; and three sisters: Rita (late Léon) Cadieux of Lachine, Que., Della (late Bill) Lynch of Bathurst and Doris (Eric)Pitre of Beresford.

Besides his wife, he was pre-deceased by a son-in-law, Gerald Chiasson; three brothers: Joseph, Gilbert and Norman and one sister, Stella Duguay.

Visitation will be held at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from: 2 to 4 p.m. at Elhatton’s Chapel where a Funeral Service will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Dialysis Department and the Palliative Care Unit of Chaleur General Hospital for the exceptional care given to their father during his illness.
