South Tetagouche – Kenneth "Bay" Ward - 91, of South Tetagouche, passed away Thursday (June 14, 2012) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst after a brief illness.

Born in South Tetagouche he was the son of the late Cloudsley and Margaret (Curtis) Ward.

Kenneth lived in South Tetagouche all of his life, and in his younger days he farmed and spent many winters in the lumber camps.  He had a great love for music and he & his brothers provided entertainment at many dances  and kitchen parties. He was a member of St. George's Anglican Church, Bathurst.

He delivered milk for General Dairies and later he was co-owner of Bay Chaleur Dairy which he sold to Northumberland Co-op, where he worked until his retirement in 1987. Kenneth had remained in his home, until a fire consumed the homestead in April.

He was predeceased by his wife, Alicia (Richardson) Ward in 1997.

He is survived by one son, Clayton Ward (Carol) of South Tetagouche; two daughters: Frances Glover (Max) of Bathurst, Sherry Ward (Richard Aubie) of South Tetagouche; 4 granddaughters: Kristina Moniz (Zack) of Bermunda, Anne Corcoran (Jeff) of Toronto, Catherine Kempe (Doug) of Bermuda and Jessica Duguay of Moncton; one brother, Gene (Joan) of Moncton; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife he was predeceased by brothers: Harold, Brian, Tunney and a sister, Cora Harris.

His many interests were music, travel (in younger years), his Harley Davidson motorcycle and spending time with his family and many friends. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

The body will rest after 7 p.m. Friday at Elhatton Funeral Home, Bathurst.  Funeral Service will be held on Sunday afternoon (June 17, 2012) at 2 p.m. from St. George's Anglican Church, King Ave., Bathurst.  Visiting hours are Friday from 7 to 9 and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.

Donations in memory of Kenneth may be made to the SPCA, South Tetagouche United Church Cemetery Fund or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
