1925 - 2013

Bathurst - Mrs. Cecile Smith, 87, wife of the late James Smith, formerly of King Ave., Bathurst, passed away on Thursday (January 17, 2013) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Lucy (Bertin) Roy.

As a young girl, she worked in the Sugar Factories in Saint John and in Senior Homes in Fredericton. She looked after Foster Children, handicapped children and seniors for a number of years. She was the last living member of her immediate family.

She is survived by two sons: Steven (Kim) of Bathurst, John (Marg) of Wainwright, Alberta.

Two daughters: Betty Ann Richard (Eddie) of Janeville and Joanna Roy of Bathurst.

9 grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

The body will rest after 2 p.m. at the Elhatton Funeral Home, Bathurst, on Tuesday January 22, 2013.

The funeral service will be held from the Christian Fellowship Church, King Ave., Bathurst, on Wednesday, January 23 at 2 p.m.

Visiting hours for Cecile are: Tuesday January 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
