1927 – 2015

Gérald Cormier, 87, of Victoria Ave., Bathurst, passed away Saturday January 17, 2015 at his residence.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Henry and Beatrice (Gauthier) Cormier.

He worked for Canada Post until his retirement.

Besides his wife, Estelle (Robichaud) Cormier, he is survived by seven sons:  Gerald Jr. (Jackie) of Miramichi, Michel (Sylvie) of Gatineau, Que., André (Sonia Simard) of St-Thomas-de-Kent, Pierre (Diane) of Bathurst, Bernard (Dianne) of North Tetagouche, Jacques (Donna) of Ste Anne and Marc (Diane) of Bathurst.

Fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Two sisters:  Ella Delisle (Therrence) and Marie-Lourde Bombardier, both of Bell River, Ont.

Several nieces & nephews.

He was pre-deceased by seven brothers: John, Delphis, Donald, Hormidas, Henri, Aurele, Alfred and seven sisters: Marie-Louise, Albina, Beatrice, Irmine, Florida, Alma M. and Carmel.

Visitation will held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. 

Memorial mass will be held on Friday January 23, 2015, at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.
