Bathurst - Gallant, Aldéi ‘’Toy" - It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Aldéi "Al" Joseph "Toy" Gallant of Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Bathurst on Saturday January 17, 2015.

Formerly of Big River and Moncton, N.B., he was the son of the late Aubin Gallant and the late Yvonne Babineau. 

He enjoyed woodworking, crossword puzzles, and family events.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Muriel (Branch, Knowles) Gallant.

Two step children:  Brenda (James) Branch and Jack (Gloria) Knowles.

Four step grandchildren: Darryl (Diane) Branch, Keri (Jason) Knowles, Colleen (Myles) Knowles, and Nancy LeBlanc.

Three great step grandchildren: Acasha, Sierra, and Blake.

Two sisters: Edith (late Lee) Sowerby of Halifax, N.S. and Janine (late Jim) Rohac of Orleans, Ont.

Two brothers: Camile (Jeannine) of LaSalle Que. and Roger of Quebec. 

He was predeceased by his first wife, Alcidie (Gauvin) Gallant; two sisters: Doris Lavoie and Aurora Hubert and one brother, Aubin "Tete". 

In keeping with Aldéi’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. 

Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com)  Bathurst.

Interment at a later date to St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Shediac. 

Donations in memory of Aldéi may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes or a charity of the donor’s choice.
