1970 – 2015
It is with great sadness that our family wish to announce the accidental death of our son, Sergeant Mark Salesse, at the age of 44, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, originally from Chamberlain Settlement, who passed away on February 11, 2015 at Polar Circus Ice Climbing route in Banff National Park, while on a training mission.
Born in Chamberlain Settlement, he was the son of Maurice Salesse (Melita) of Bathurst and Elizabeth "Liz" Quinn (Robert Brady), who now lives in Moncton, NB.
Mark enrolled in the Governor General’s Foot Guards Reserve Unit on November 6, 1989. On January 6, 1998, he joined the regular forces. In June 2006 he graduated as a Search and Rescue (SAR) Technician at CFB Comox, B.C. He posted later at CFB Goosebay, Labrador until the summer of 2012. Mark was with the 435 Squadron at CFB Winnipeg, Manitoba as a Search and Rescue (SAR) Technician since August 14, 2012.
Beside his parents, he will be sadly missed by a sister, Triscia Raven (Bill) from Oro-Medonte, Ontario, several aunts, uncles, cousins, a step-sister, step-brothers, and numerous friends around the globe.
He was predeceased by an infant sister, Micheline Yvonne.
Pallbearers are Kevin McGivery, Pierre Salesse, Bill Raven, Adam Quinn, Keith Manuel and Craig Manuel.
The body will rest at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, Tuesday, March 3rd, 2015 after 9:30 am until time of funeral, which will be at 1 pm at Holy Family Church, 430 St Peters Avenue, Bathurst, NB.
