1942 - 2015

Bathurst - Gérald Godin, 72, of Payne Court, Bathurst, passed away on Saturday May 9, 2015, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the Alban Godin and the late Evelyne (Doucet) Godin.

He worked as a teacher at the former South Bathurst School for 32 years.

Besides his father of Bathurst and his wife of 48 years, Germaine (Daigle) Godin, he is survived by two children:  Lise Branch (Mont) and Marc (Louise Bujold) both of Bathurst.

Four grandchildren whom he loved and were the joy of his life: Sean, Devin, Kara and Marc-André.

One brother, Rhéal Godin (Réjeanne) of Bathurst. 

Three sisters:  Angela Léger (Michel) of Bathurst, Adelma Godin (Gilles) of Beresford and Jeannie Boudreau (Donald) of Balmoral.  Several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday May 12, 2015, at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst. 

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Wade the care given at his home and your kindness, the Extra Mural Program (especially Marie-Josée), the Palliative Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital, extended family members, friends and special neighbors for all their kindness & support during this time.

Donations in memory of Gérald may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donors choice.
