1931 - 2016
Bathurst - Fran (Frances) Daley passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at her residence on Bridge St. after a brief illness at the age of 84.
Born in Canobie she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Hilda (Ellis) Glendenning. Fran was the wife of the late Elmer Daley.
Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were a great joy in her life. She kept them all close with family meals and gatherings. She also cared for many other children in her home in her younger days. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary, and enjoyed playing shuffle board, curling, bowling, and loved to knit, crochet and read in her spare time. Fran was also a member of the Red Hat / Crown Jewels Society. She loved spending time during the summer at her cottage in Salmon Beach and also tried to travel as often as possible and has seen as much of the world as she could with family and friends. She loved to laugh, tell jokes and was always there to help and care for anyone who needed it.
She is survived by her children: Gordon (Marielle) of Beresford, Glen (Joyce), Timmy (Tammy), Tommy, Sally (Derek) Noseworthy and her daughter-in-law Karen, all of Bathurst.
Ten grandchildren: Dawn, Andrew, Amy-Sue, Erica, Adam, James, Chris, Blake, Robbie and Danielle.
Eight great-grandchildren: East, Hunter, Maria, Connor, Ethan, Max, Judah and Morgan.
Three sisters: Ada Scott (late Kenneth) of Bathurst, Ruby Borland (Robert) of Alcona, Ontario and Margaret "Peg" Peters of Bathurst.
Several nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
She will also be sadly missed by her sweet boys Mittens & Socks.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Alice, Muriel, Shirley and Patricia; and five brothers, Stern, Gordon, Guy, Marson and George.
There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held in the spring.
Donations in memory of Fran may be made the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
