1946 - 2016

Bathurst - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alphie Hickey of King Ave, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the age of 69.

Born in Doyleville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lena (Hickey) Hickey. 

His he survived by his special partner, Yolande Couture.

Two step children: Gilles Couture (Gail Hannan) of Bathurst and Rachelle Couture (Donald Hachey) of Rough Waters.

Two step grandchildren: Ryan and Samantha Neil.

One adopted son, Cody Hickey of Edmonton, Alberta.

A special nephew, Rickey Hickey, whom he called his son.

Four sisters: Dora MacKenzie (late Bobby) of Bathurst, Cora Audet (late Edmond) of Dalhousie, Agnes Pitrie (Al) of Saskatchewan and Liz Wasylechko (William) of Alberta.

Several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers: Urban, Leonard and Delphis and a sister, Charlotte.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday afternoon, April 25, 2016 at 2 pm from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst.

Donations in memory of Alphie may be made to the Palliative Care at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
