Bathurst - Mrs. Imelda Dubé, 88, wife of Norman Henry and the late George Dubé, of Allison Cres., Bathurst, passed away on Saturday May 7, 2016, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Atholville, she was the daughter of the late J. Edgar and Florence (LeBel) Aubé.
Besides her husband, she is survived by four children: Michel Dubé (Stacie Kelly) of Halifax, NS; Jacques Dubé (Nancy) of Moncton; Olivia Donovan (Alvin) of Hampton; and Richard Dubé of Halifax, NS
Five grandchildren: Melissa, Jeremy , Alexander, Christopher, Patrick and one great-grandson, Peter.
Two sisters: Marina Shaw of New Zealand and Carmel Farmer (Robert) of Quyon, QC.
Her step-children: Karen McCrea (Hazen) of Bathurst, Brenda Romolliwa of Lethbridge, AB and step-daughter-in-law, Yvette Henry of Bathurst.
Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Venolia Aubé, Art and Rita Dubé, Daniel and Camilla O’Connell, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Alvin Aubé and step-son, Lorne Henry.
She was a member and Past President of the Holy Family Catholic Women's League, Bathurst, and she had a 36-year career as an educator in various public schools in Bathurst and finished her career at the NBCC and was a member of the New Brunswick Retired Teachers Association. She was respected and loved by her students, and she took great pride in her career. Imelda taught line-dancing and loved to dance with George and her son Michel. She always sought out fun and hearty laughs every day.
The family would like to thank the people who brought her joy and cared for her in the last years of her life: Claudette Gallagher, Nora Boudreau, Dell Poirier, Jackie Doucet, the staff at Papa Joe’s restaurant, the staff of 4th East and Palliative Care at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, with special thanks to an angel on earth, Lloyd Branch.
Visiting hours are Monday, May 9, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from noon until time of Funeral at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday May 10, 2016, at 2 p.m. from Holy Family Church St. Peters Ave., Bathurst.
