1946 – 2016

Bathurst – Gerald Doucet, 69, of O’Neil Dr., Bathurst, passed away on Wednesday July 13, 2016, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Benedict H. and Lauza (Cormier) Doucet.

He was a member of the Bathurst UCT for many years.  Gerald was retired from the Northern Light after 28 years.  His pastime during his retirement was wine making at the former Wine Kitz on St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.

Besides his wife, Mona (Boucher), he is survived by three daughters: Nicole Doucet (Donald Vienneau) of Bathurst, Lisa Aubé (Alain) of Thompson, MB and Julie Doucet (Eric Cyr) of Beresford.  Four grandchildren, Katherine, André, Louis, Chloé and a great-granddaughter, Zoey.

One sister, Delores Godin (late Jean-Baptiste) of Bathurst.  Several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by a brother, Jean-Eudes.

Visitation for the late Gerald will be held on Thursday evening, July 14, 2016 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning July 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst.  Donations in memory of Gerald may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
