1934 - 2016

Bathurst - Ernest DeGrace of Hillside Ave., Bathurst, passed way on Sunday September 11, 2016 at the age of 82 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Beresford, he was the son of the late William and Georgina (Pitre) DeGrace.

Ernest was known for his Yard Sales, walking may kilometers per day, his special wave and always had a smile for everybody.

Ernest was pre-deceased by his first wife, Agnita (Lavigne) in 1991 and his second wife, Aline (Senechal) in 2010.

He is survived by two sons:  Jean Paul (Minnie) of Beresford and Daniel (Bernadette) of Bathurst.  One daughter, Theresa Leet (Guy Poirier) of Bathurst.

Seven grandchildren: Danie Frenette, Randy Frenette, Stephane DeGrace, Cindy Siltala (Larry), Kyle DeGrace, Patrick DeGrace (Julie Lord), Renée Doucet (Jeffrey); seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Pasley, Heidi, Lina, Oliver, Simon and his special great-granddaughter buddy that he was so fond of, Emma.

Three brothers:  Ronald DeGrace (Geralda) and George DeGrace (Francine) both of Beresford and Victor DeGrace (Theresa) of Thunder Bay, ON.  Brothers-in-law, Maynard Lavigne (Jessie), Omer Lavigne (Emma), David Lavigne (Pam), Elmer Lavigne, Thomas Lavigne, Raymond Doucet and one sister-in-law, Patrina Hoffman (Weirner).  Several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by three brothers: Alphonse, Clifford and Adrien.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday September 14, 2016 at 4 p.m. from Holy Name of Jesus Church, Beresford.  Donations in memory of Ernest may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a favorite charity.  Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home (www.mfheritage.com), Beresford.
