Paula Campbell of YoughallBeach died peacefully at the ChaleurRegionalHospital on Sunday, February 19, just a few days shy of her 96th birthday. Paula was born and raised in Bathurst, where she met husband Don. She and Don spent most of their married life in Quebec, where they raised their three daughters Heather, Nancy and Susan. Paula permanently relocated back to Bathurst after Don’s death and spent her final happy decades at the beach, with a series of beloved pets and a multitude of friends.
Paula/Mummy/Grandmama/'GG' was the eternal optimist and lived life to the fullest right to the end. Left to cherish a million great memories are 'the girls', son-in-law Phillip, grandsons N'Gai (Hillary) and Mark (Lisa) and great-grandchildren Emma and Theo.
A very special thanks to Paula’s health caregivers over the years: Dr. Ariane Bouchard, the extramural team, staff throughout the ChaleurRegionalHospital and most especially in her final days the wonderfully caring and compassionate Palliative Care staff.
The family invites friends to join us in celebrating a wonderful woman by raising - what else - a glass of wine on Sunday, March 5 from 3-5 pm at the Atlantic Host. Those wishing to may make a donation to the Bathurst SPCA or the ChaleurRegionalHospital. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
