Bathurst – It is with great sadness that we the family wish announce the death of Emery LeBlanc, of Champlain St. He passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, November 10, 2017, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 88.
Born in Atholville, he was the son of the late Adélard and Lucie (LeBlanc) LeBlanc.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Anne "Marion" (Blanchard) LeBlanc.
Two children: Michel of Ontario and Laura Baisley (Randy) Elmsdale, NS.
Three brothers: Charles (May Frenette) of Bathurst, Léonard (Jeannine Bossé) of Edmundston and Gildard (Pauline St-Laurent) of Atholville.
Two sisters: Laura (Ernest Gallant) of Atholville and Lorraine Boissonneault (late Emilien) of St-Maure, NB. A special niece, Diane Roy of Beresford.
He was predeceased by a son, Robert, brothers: Rev. Gervais, Aurèle, Henri, Jean-Marc, Paul Emile, Léonda and two sisters: Fernande and Hermine.
Emery enjoyed a long career working at Brunswick Mines from 1964 until his retirement in 1986. After his retirement things got busy. He was a long time member of UCT, Gowan Brae Golf Club, where he was a long time mentor for the junior golf program, the Bathurst Curling Club, member of the "VoiduNor" Choir. For all of Emery’s many hours of volunteer work, he was awarded the Paul Harris Award from the Bathurst Rotary Club. He will be missed by many.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) in Bathurst, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Wednesday from 12 noon until time of funeral. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Church, Wednesday November 15, 2017 at 2 pm. Donations may be made in his memory to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
