Fred Cooney, of Bathurst, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 71.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years and best friend, Kathy Cooney.
Born in Montreal, QC, he was the son of the late Fred and Ada Cooney.
Also survived by one brother, Steven (late Joanne) of Charlottetown, PEI.
Three sisters: Arlene Lapointe (Emile Latour), Sr. Lorna Cooney SNJM, and Brenda Brisebois (Richard) all of Montreal.
Nieces and nephews: Lorna, Ross, Kim, Jennifer, Darryl, Krista, Caroline (Pete).
As per his wishes there will be no visitation and no funeral service.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Anthony Wade, Jill & Myrna, Dr. Rebecca Arseneau, the nurses and LPNs of 4th East for their exceptional care and compassion. Also, to Gordon Kane, Brian and Bev Murphy for their friendship and support.
Donations in memory of Fred may be made to the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation, the Gloucester SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice.
