Bathurst – Mary Jane O’Neill Losier, 77, of Bathurst, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 courageously at home surrounded by her children and grand-children.

Mary Jane was born in Amherst Nova Scotia to the late Charles and Constance (Gard) O’Neill and became an author, writer, journalist, an avid photographer, traveler and history buff.  She was a loving wife, mother, grand-mother and friend.  Very engaged in her community with her volunteer work and participation in most cultural events.  She lived life to the fullest and never missed a family event or adventure.  Her joy of life was contagious and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.  

She is survived by her three children: Andréa Losier-Doucet (Denis Doucet) of Robertville, Michelle Losier (Clint Gurnsey) of Wasaga Beach, ON and David Losier (Isabelle Cormier) of Caraquet.

Eight grandchildren:  Danica, Rémi, Bryan, Erika, Andrew, Benjamin, Justin and Kyla.

One brother, Patrick O’Neill (late Yvonne).

Three nieces, Margaret, Cheryl and Patti. Several cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Aldéo in 2006 and a brother Danny in 1941.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.  Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 4:00pm at Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com)  St. George St, Bathurst. 

She wanted to express her gratitude for the many kind gestures from neighbours and friends.

Donations in memory of Mary Jane may be made to the Bathurst Heritage Museum, Gloucester SPCA, Daly Point Nature Reserve or a charity of the donor’s choice.
