Mrs. Macrina Pitre, 90, wife of the late Denis Pitre, of South Tetagouche, passed away on Saturday April 14, 2018, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst., after a brief illness.
Born in South Tetagouche, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Catherine (Gauthier) Gauthier.
She is survived by six children: Margaret Pitre (Jean Claude Arseneau) and Rhéal (Caroline Bertin) both of Beresford, Thérèse Henry (Stuart), Monique Pitre (Jean Guy) and Raymond (Lucienne Lagacé) all of South Tetagouche and Jacqueline Imhoff (Raymond) of Sussex.
Many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.
One brother, Fred Gauthier of Beresford. One sister, Corrine Pitre of Bathurst. Several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her step-children: Léona, Gérard, Cajetan and Alphee.
The family will receive relatives and friends after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday April 18, 2018 at 4 p.m. from Holy Family Church, Bathurst. Visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral. Donations in memory of Macrina may be made to the St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery Fund or a favorite charity.
