Bathurst- It is with great sadness, the family of Roger Santerre, of Sunset Dr. in Bathurst, announces his passing on Saturday, September 8th, 2018, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital at the age of 92.
Born in Rimouski, QC he was the son of the late Emile and Martha (Frenette) Santerre.
He was predeceased by his wife Thérèse (Lavigne) in 2011.
He will be remembered by his loved ones as dad, papa, pap, grand-papa, papi and pépère. He was known for his sharp mind, his love of life, and inventions but, especially for the immense details he would instill in all of his projects.
He was the superintendent in the offices of the former local Connolly Construction Business most of all his life and loved his work.
He was known as a very humble man.
He is survived by two daughters: Rachel and Élise;
Five sons: Marc, Daniel, Gaëtan, Louis and Charles;
Five grandchildren: Mylène, Maxime, Jennifer, Katherine, and Emilie; two great-grandchildren: Gabriel and Ophélie.
Two sisters Denise Fournier and Colette Santerre.
Many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers Guy and Denis.
There will no be visitation at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday October 4, 2018, from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel, Bathurst.
In memory of Roger a donation to the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
