Alyre Duguay of Beresford passed away at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the age of 81. Born in Beresford, he was the son of the late Edmond I. and Lydia (Hachey) Duguay.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Yvonne (Legacy) Duguay. A daughter, Natalie Duguay of Beresford, and a granddaughter, Katrine Chiasson.
Two brothers: Lucien Duguay (Léona) of Hamilton, Ont., Marc Duguay of Beresford. One sister, Lillian (late Gerald Arseneau) of Petit-Rocher.
Four sisters-in-laws: Delcina Duguay of Bathurst, Julie-Anne Duguay and Helen Duguay both of Beresford, Dorina DeGrace (Gerald) of Tremblay and one brother-in-law, Jean-Paul Legacy (Nicole) of South Tetagouche. Several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers: Alvin, Rodrigue and Arnold.
Alyre worked at Brunswick Mines for many years and he was active in his community. He was a member of the fourth degree Knights of Columbus of Beresford.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 2pm from St-Nom-de-Jesus Church, Beresford.
Donations in memory of Alyre can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
