Bathurst - Mrs. Rhoda Scott, wife of the late Pastor George B. Scott, of Bathurst, passed away on Saturday June 22, 2019 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 90.
Born in Salmon Beach, she was the daughter of the late Alymur and Charlotte (Hodgins) Smith.
She is survived by two daughters: Linda Scott (Everett) of Clifton and Beatrice Basque (Charles) of Bathurst.
Five grandchildren: Sally, Barry, Timothy, Tina, Tammy; three great-grandchildren: Taylor, Braydon and John.
Two sisters: Kathleen Fleury of Bathurst and Grace Sillig (Joachim) of Toronto, ON.
One sister-in-law, Lois Dickson of Salmon Beach, also several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by two sisters: Frances Peterson, Jessie Rosborough and a brother, Jimmy Smith.
While raising her family, on their Dairy Farm in Rough Waters, Rhoda and George spent many years sharing their love for the Lord around the province. They were founding members of the former Bayview Baptist Church (The Point Church), Bathurst. In 1980, they went into ministry full time at the Upper Blackville Baptist Church. Rhoda spent the last 30 years in her home in Rough Waters, enjoying her family and many friends. She will be sadly missed.
The family will receive relatives and friends after 2 p.m. Monday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday June 25, 2019 at 1 p.m. from The Point Church, O'Neil Dr., Bathurst. Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
In memory of Rhoda, donations may be made to the Extra Mural Program or a charity of the donors choice.
The family would like to thank her caregivers at her home, the Chaleur Regional Hospital and the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes.
