Angus, beloved husband of Loretta (Cassell) Head, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst at the age of 87.

Born in Buchans, NL on July 16, 1932, he was the son of the late Patrick & Nancy (Glavine) Head.

Besides his loving wife of 65 years, he is survived by his children: Gary (Colleen), Terry (Cheryl Blundon), Angus (Kitt), Cynthia Ricketts (Gerald), Paul (Joanne), Gail (Renée Fowler), Debbie Courage (Guy), and Pam. 

Grandchildren: Carla (Doug), Brian (Robyn), Karen (Chris), Joanne, Allison, Stephanie, Nikita (Lawrence), Natasha (Carlton), Bonnie (Jamie), Nicole (Kevin), Michael (Evelyn), Kevin (Candice), David (Chelsea), Alex, Daniel, Morgan, Brady (Brittany), Jessica (Brett), Jonathan (Meagan) and Matthew. 24 great-grandchildren.

Three siblings: Anna Smith (late Harry), Anthony (Lorna), and Margie Schuur (late Harmannus) and a large circle of family and friends in Bathurst and in Buchans, NL.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter Bonita, two granddaughters: Rebecca and Samantha, a brother Tommy and a sister Marie (Doug) Skanes.

He was an avid hockey fan and was very involved as a lifelong referee and volunteer. He served in the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for many years. He retired from the former Brunswick Mines in December of 1996.

The family will receive family and friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday January 9, 2020 at Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020 from the Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. J.P. Arseneau and the nurses and staff at the Chaleur Regional Hospital for their excellent care. Also, thanks to his granddaughter, Bonnie for the special care and attention given over the last number of years.
