Tanya Scott of Cole Harbour, NS was born in Chatham, NB, daughter to Elaine (Dempsey) Scott and the late Franklin Scott, both formerly from the Downshore area.
Besides living in Chatham, she lived in Debert and a greater part of her life in Cole Harbour.
She passed away on Saturday October 10, 2020, at the VG Hospital with family by her side after a short but courageous battle with leukemia.
Tanya is survived by her loving sister Brenda Scott (Gordon Linder) of Fredericton, nieces Katie (Shawn) Moran and Emmie Morrissey and nephew Joshua (Erin) Morrissey.
Also survived by special great nieces Paisley and Alexa and great nephew Austin. She loved them all. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides being predeceased by her father Frank, also predeceased by brothers Paul (2009) and Kevin (2010), her grandparents Stanley and Lydia Scott and Thomas and Isalee Dempsey.
Tanya was a very caring person who liked to help others. A large number of people are in possession of her many craft projects, whether it be crocheting, painting, wood burning, wood carving, you name it.
Tanya had a large circle of friends including her neighbours who were so helpful to her, and her larger family, co-workers and staff at the Dartmouth General Hospital. You meant so much to her, and your generosity shone forth.
Special thanks to her Aunt Wilma, friend Nancy and her loving Aunt Shirley who stayed by her side during the final days of her life.
Because of Covid-19 there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held in Bathurst, NB, later this week with Covid-19 restrictions in place. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
