Bathurst - Allain Ouellette Sr., 69, husband of Ginette (Pelletier) Ouellette, of Daniel Dr., Bathurst, passed away on Tuesday February 2, 2021 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Drummond, NB, he was the son of the late Lionel Sr. and Annette (Michaud) Ouellette.
Allain will be dearly missed by his beloved family and many friends.
He made many long-term friendships during his 32 years employed at Service New Brunswick that he kept in touch with even after retiring 7 years ago. Other lifelong friendships would be created through his kindheartedness and reputation for a job well done with home Reno’s, DIY’s and construction as this would be his hobby and true passion. You either met him through family, friend or neighbour as he was often sought out for these projects for his talent and advice. If he could help you, he would and even if you didn’t need it he was known for giving you his 2 cents... Before you knew it, he was your go to guy for the next project or simply to enjoy a cold one! If you had the pleasure of being the subject of his dry humour, sharp wit and friendly banter that means he truly did enjoy your company, as he did this with affection and a kind heart.
His love for his family was endless, he could be subtle with expressing his feelings, but generous with his actions and presences in their daily lives. He was especially proud of all his grandchildren and their accomplishments and always looked forward to spending time with them. His sudden passing leaves a tremendous void in their lives.
Besides his wife he is survived by three children: Allain Ouellette Jr. (Annick) of South Tetagouche, Dawn Ouellette of Bathurst and Craig Ouellette (Karine Chenard) of Dieppe.
Six grandchildren: Gabriel, Patrick, Méline, Jared, Jacob and Sophie.
Eight brothers and sisters: Marlene Ouellette of Grand Falls, Lloyd (Lily) of Drummond, Anne-Marie (Herman Gauvreau) of Saint-Quentin, Linda Ouellette and Verna Morrisey (Bill) both of Drummond, Suzanne Ouellette (Jim Watkins) of Quispamsis, Carole Lundberg (Dave) of Colorado Springs, CO and Lionel Jr. (France Ringuette) of Saint-Basile.
Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) of Bathurst. Due to the current pandemic, a funeral mass will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Rosary Church at a later date. Donations in memory of Allain may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
