Bathurst - Donald James McLean, 80, of Bridge St, Bathurst, passed away on Saturday (October 8, 2005) at the Moncton Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late William McLean and Mabel (O'Conner) (McLean) Scott.
He served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Air Force in Canada and was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. He worked as a Stationary Engeneer for 47 years at the former Consolidated Bathurst Paper Mill, retiring in 1989.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ada (Ramsay) McLean.

Five Grandchildren; Bailey, Joshua, Patricia, Miranda, Brett and one great-grandson, Zander Lavigne.
Many nieces and nephews who were always welcomed at his home, special mention to one nephew, David 'Mackie' Holmes (Paulette) of Bathurst
He was pre-deceased by a sister, Marion Anderson; six brothers, Edgar, Kenneth, Murray, Maxwell, Harry and Gordon.
The body will rest after 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Monday morning (October 10, 2005) at 11:00 a.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Highland View Cemetery, Bathurst. Visiting hours are Sunday from 7 to 9.
