Allardville – Mrs. Raymonde Blanchard, of Allardville, passed away on Sunday December 5, 2021, at the Villa Sormany in Robertville, at the age of 72, after her courageous battle with Lou Gehrig disease.
Born in Allardville, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Edna (Goldrup) Gallant.
Raymonde enjoyed spending time with her family especially at the camp where she was constantly sweeping and keeping it warm with a glass of red wine nearby even if it was « just a little bit ». She always looked forward to her morning coffee with friends and keeping up to date with the local news. Raymonde was a generous soul who was always positive and truly cared about everyone. Enjoying life was very important to her, especially the time she spent with the love of her life Normand and her grandchildren whom she was so proud of and loved so much. She was always smiling when family was together. Raymonde will be sadly missed by everyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting her.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years Normand Blanchard and her two daughters:
Nicole Blanchard (Andrew MacNeil) of Halifax, NS and Louise Blanchard (Marc Basque) of Bathurst.
Three grandchildren: David, Philip and Isabel; and four others that she loved as her own: Sarah, Allison, Jacob and Malia.
Four brothers: Denis Gallant (Rosa) and Clarence “Clary” Gallant (Rose-Marie) both of Allardville, Frederic “Freddy” Gallant (Jeanne) of Bathurst and Jimmy Gallant of Toronto, ON.
Two sisters: Joanne Gauvin (Fernand) of Allardville and Joyce Ellis (Blaine) of Moncton.
Several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by three brothers: Leonard, Jack and Rene and one sister Dorothy.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday December 17, 2021, at 2 p.m. from Église Christ-Roi in Allardville. Proof of vaccinations and a valid ID are required.
Donations in memory of Raymonde may be made to the ALS Society, Villa Sormany Foundation or a charity of the donors choice.
