South Tetagouche, NB - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Omer Mazerolle, of South Tetagouche on January 17th, 2022, at the Bathurst Regional Hospital, following a brief illness, at the age of 95.

Born in Bertrand, Omer was the son of late Edward Mazerolle and late Exilia (Cormier) Mazerolle.

Omer leaves behind his loving wife Sadie Gray Mazerolle of 54 years of marriage and his two loving daughters, Lisa and Gloria Mazerolle.

Omer was predeceased by his loving son André Mazerolle in 2021 of Bathurst, NB.

Omer is survived by his brother, Élie Mazerolle (late Stella Doucet Mazerolle) of Bathurst; his sisters: Lydia Mazerolle Doiron (Camille Doiron) of Bathurst and Dérilda Mazerolle Chiasson (late Alcide Chiasson) of Caraquet.

Besides his parents and son, Omer was predeceased by his brother Émilien Mazerolle (Berthil Cormier Mazerolle) and his sister Argentine Mazerolle Couture (late Émile Couture).

Omer was devoted to the Divine Mercy Chapelet (Rosary) as family tradition since 2001 and he had great faith in God. He was thankful for the many blessings over his family life.

Omer was a devoted husband and father. He had a kind heart and was always willing to help family and friends in need. He touched many lives.

He enjoyed staying active and kept working around the house with small projects up to 2021. Omer worked as a carpenter all of his life and retired from Brunswick Mines in 1992 at the age of 65.

He will be lovingly missed by his wife Sadie and daughters Gloria and Lisa and all those who knew him. He will always be in our heart forever.

There will be no visitations at the Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday June 15, 2022, at 2 p.m. from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Bathurst. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
