Marie Cécilia Doucet, wife of the late Joseph J. Doucet, formerly of St. Mary Avenue, Bathurst, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 26th at the Foyer Notre-Dame de Lourdes, at the age of 89.

Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Adélard and the late Marie Pauline (Cormier) Aubie.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Doucet, in 1999.

She leaves behind to mourn her son, Daryl Doucet, and her two precious granddaughters, Maria and Julie, all of Bathurst.

She is also survived by three brothers: Ovila Aubie, Robert E. (late Rita) Aubie, and John (Jeannette) Aubie, all of Bathurst; one sister: Emma (Doris) Doucet of Caraquet and brother-in-law: Harold Hachey of Bathurst. Six nephews and one niece.

She was predeceased by two infant siblings: Ralph and Irene; sisters: Kay (Harold) Hachey and Pamela (late Valère) Bernard.

At Cécilia's request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Due to the pandemic, a funeral mass or a private ceremony will be held at a later date.

Donations in memory of Cécilia may be made to the IWK Foundation, Make-A-Wish Canada, the Alzheimer Society of Canada or a charity of the donor's choice.
