It is with great sadness that the family of Ida Haggarty of North Tetagouche announces her sudden passing on February 10th, 2022, at the age of 67. Born in Bathurst, NB, Ida was the daughter of the late Blaire and Grace Ramsay.

She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 49 years, William Haggarty, her two children, Alan (Joan) of Claremont, ON and Amanda (Claude) of North Tetagouche, NB, and three grandchildren, Veda, Shannon, and Adam.

Ida is also survived by her sisters, Norma Haggerty (Harold), Debbie Judd (Levi), Donna Ramsay (Guy), Laurel Boudreau (Bob), and Janet Winsor (Keith), as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ida worked for School District 15 for over 30 years; she was a devoted educational assistant at Bathurst High School for much of her career. Mrs. Haggarty was loved by her students. She touched the hearts and impacted the lives of so many. Ida was an incredible, strong woman which was evident through her passion and dedication toward her position as Vice President of CUPE Local 2745. She had a knack for painting and created many special pieces. Ida enjoyed Saturday morning yard sales and shopping; she was a classy, stylish woman that loved her accessories and always looked her best. She loved four wheeling with her husband and family. Ida especially enjoyed time spent at her camp with her beloved dog, Cindy.

She will be missed dearly and, in our hearts, forever.

The family will receive relatives and friends after 1:30 p.m. on Thursday May 19th at Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel from where the funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home, Bathurst. (www.elhatton.com)
