Bathurst – Daniel Joseph Christie, of Bathurst, passed away on Sunday February 20, 2022, at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes, Bathurst, at the age of 88.

Born in Beresford, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Cecilia (Hachey) Christie.

He is survived by five children: Steven Christie (Bernadette Pelletier), Isabelle Hains, Linda Christie, David Christie (Louise Vermette) and Claudette Christie (Raymond Lawrence) all of Bathurst.

The mother of his children, Gertrude (Pitre) Christie of Bathurst.

Six grandchildren.

One sister, Stella LeClair (Jean-Eudes) of Nigadoo.

Several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by a daughter, Alice; grandson, Daniel; brothers: Delphis, William “Billy”, John; sisters: Amelia and Alice.

Daniel was a quiet man with his own sense of humor. He was a lumberjack working in the woods from a young age. He worked hard all his life as a self-employed logger.

There will be no visitations at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at a later date. Donations in memory of Daniel may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or a favorite charity. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
