It is with great sadness that the family of Cecile Young, wife of the late Vernon Young, of South Bathurst, announce her passing which occurred on Saturday February 26, 2022, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 101.

Born in Robertville, she was the daughter of the late David and Clara (Hachey) Lavigne.

She will be sadly missed by her three daughters: Audrey (late John Hannan) and Sharon Young both of Bathurst and Dorothy Janisse (Joe) of Winnipeg, MB.  Four grandchildren: Chris, Melanie, Cynthia, Andrew.

Seven great-grandchildren: Jordan, Megan, Nova, Mitchell, Shelby, Jasiah and Emma.

Two brothers: John (Cathy) of Fredericton and Edgar (Lillian) of Bathurst. Her sister Rita (late Lawrence Legacy) of Bathurst. As well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by an infant son, Vernon Blair as well as her siblings: Henry, Ben, Aurele, Norman, Arthur and Corinne

According to Cecile’s wishes there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service will be celebrated on Friday June 3, 2022, at 2 p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel, Bathurst.

Donations in memory of Cecile may be made to the Alzheimers’s Society of Canada or a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. (www.elhatton.com)
