It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Jeannine White, of Bathurst, which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Thursday March 10, 2022, at the age of 69.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter to the late Lawrence and Isabelle (Doucet) White.
She leaves behind two brothers: Claude White (Janette) and Gérald White (Louise) both of Halifax, NS. One sister: Denise Hachey (Charles) of Bathurst.
Several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Gary (Ginette) and Robert (Jocelyne).
She was front and center at family events and enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, she was their special aunt. Jeannine was a school teacher for 35 years and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of the T.O.P.S as well as the Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Women’s League and was heavily involved in the church community.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Prestige Residence, the Oncology Department of the Georges Dumont Hospital, the 4th Floor West and Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital for the kind care given to Jeannine.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Elhatton’s Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst, on Sunday March 13, 2022 from 7 to 9 p.m. Masks are required to attend the visitations. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from Sacred Heart Cathedral on Monday March, 14 at 2p.m. Donations in memory of Jeannine may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
